Day 2 of Request for Department of Early Learning to comply with RCW 43.215.370
I posted this yesterday on my website. I'm awaiting word back from the Governor, State Auditor and Attorney General.
Diane Fletch's day care as of this morning viewing the Department of Early Learning website does not show she has a license; and there is still no information about her summary suspension.

Department of Early Learning - hiding vital information from Parents
The Diane Fletch licensed family home child care in Vancouver, Washington where an outbreak of e-coli began on March 12, 2010 which resulted in the death of 4 year old Roanan is no longer listed on the Department of Early Learning website.

We found 0 results for Diane and Larry Fletch in Clark county
7 out of 17 in the facility tested positive for e-coli. Four children were hospitalized. 4 year old Roanan died on April 8, 2010.
Diane and Larry Fletch told the Health Department and the Department of Early Learning they voluntarily closed their facility in March 2010 and would not until certified by the Health Department to re-open.
It was learned the Fletch's provided child care on April 6, 2010.
This family home child day care facility had a history of violating the capacity regulations as well as other health and safety regulations. They had been issued at least 2 civil penalty fine letters in their history.
The Department of Early Learning after becoming aware the Fletch's provided care only sent them a summary suspension letter. Why is it not a summary revocation?
Plus the RCW below became law in 2007 and has never been complied with by the Department of Early Learning:
"RCW 43.215.370
Reporting actions against agency licensees — Posting on web site.
For the purposes of reporting actions taken against agency licensees, upon the development of an early learning information system, the following actions shall be posted to the department's web site accessible by the public: Suspension, surrender, revocation, denial, stayed suspension, or reinstatement of a license."
The public has a right to know about this licensed child day care facility as well as other facilities where children were put at risk.
I'm sending my Eye on Government report to Governor Christine Gregoire, State Auditor Brian Sonntag, Attorney General Rob McKenna and Director of the Children and Family Ombudsman's Office, Mary Meinig to see if anyone of them can get the Department of Early Learning to follow RCW 43.215.370. Or at least find out why they haven't since 2007.
I'll ask them to get back to me.
